New state sales tax portals for 2024-2025
by
February 14, 2025Three states: Kentucky, Nevada, and Ohio created new portals that sellers should use when managing their sales tax accounts. Here’s what you need to know.
Kentucky
On March 14, 2025, the Kentucky Department of Revenue is planning to launch a new sales tax portal for businesses called MyTaxes. To prepare for the transition, there will be a two week pause at the Kentucky Department of Revenue from February 26th-March 14th. Businesses cannot file returns or receive refund payments in the old system, OneStop, or the new system, MyTaxes during this time. An email with login credentials and instructions for MyTaxes will be sent to OneStop, E-Tax, and WRAPS users the first week of March 2025.
Important note for businesses: Please print any historical return data from OneStop that you want to save prior to February 26th. Although the Department of Revenue will archive historical return data from OneStop, you will not be able to access these records in OneStop beginning on February 26.
Nevada
On December 9, 2024, Nevada launched a new tax portal, My Nevada Tax.
Important note for businesses: My Nevada Tax requires that you create a separate login for the new portal. My Nevada Tax also requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to provide an additional level of security for your account. You will be able to use email, text message, or an authenticator app for My Nevada Tax MFA.
Ohio
On December 9th, 2024, the Ohio Department of Taxation launched a new tax portal, OH|TAX eServices.
Important note for businesses: As of December 2nd, 2024, 2-Step Verification will be required for accessing the portal.
